10 Destinations to Consider

Pack your suitcases. There’s a whole world of adventure waiting for you. If you haven’t taken a vacation in a while, or if you’re simply looking for a new place to visit, here are 10 destinations to consider for your next trip.

1. Hawaii

Sun. Sand. Ocean. Hawaii is a great vacation destination, and if you haven’t been yet, now is the time to fix that. You can pick one island – like the Big Island, Kauai or Maui – or if you can’t decide, you can hop from one island to the next. Go snorkeling, check out the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, go whale watching or simply enjoy the food and the views.

2. Seychelles

If an island vacation sounds good but you’ve already been to Hawaii, consider the Seychelles. These tropical islands are located in the Indian Ocean, and they’re considered some of the most beautiful in the world. Seychelles has beaches, of course, but it also has a rainforest. Be sure to check out the giant Aldabra tortoises.

3. Martha’s Vineyard

This Massachusetts island can only be reached by boat or plane. Once there, you can check out the farms and lighthouses and tour the museums. There’s also plenty of outdoor adventure, from horseback riding and hiking to kayaking.

4. Raleigh, North Carolina

Raleigh is the capital of North Carolina. It’s also a great vacation spot. There are numerous festivals, concerts and other events, as well as museums, restaurants and more. For outdoor activity, you can head to the golf courses or spend the day at the lake.

5. Xi’an, China

Located in the Chaanxi Province, this is where the Terracotta Army was discovered. Learn about the important archaeological discovery while enjoying the food and culture. Visitors will also want to check out the Huaqing Pool, hot springs located near the Huaqing Palace.

6. The Grand Canyon

It’s safe to assume you’ve heard of the Grand Canyon. But have you actually been there? Recently? This is one of the seven natural wonders of the world, so it deserves a lot of attention. Admire the amazing view or get some exercise by going on a hike.

7. Port Aransas, Texas

Located on the Gulf Coast, this is a great destination for anyone who wants to see animals in their natural habitat. Birders will be especially interested in the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center. Stop by in February for the Whooping Crane Festival. But be warned – birds aren’t the only animals here. You might see an alligator, too.

8. Gettysburg

This Pennsylvania destination in know as the site of the famous Civil War battle. Visitors can go to the Gettysburg Museum to see Civil War artifacts. If you’re more interested in the paranormal, check out the ghost tours in the area.

9. New York City

There’s plenty to do in the City That Never Sleeps. Go shopping, get something to eat or watch a play. You can also visit the Statue of Liberty and Central Park.

10. Tokyo

If you’re looking for an urban getaway that’s not in the United States, consider Tokyo. This Japanese city boasts stunning architecture and delicious food. To learn more about the culture and history, be sure to check out the Meiji Shrine and the Tokyo National Museum.
